During the visit, the delegation were introduced and exchanged experience in training and development of scientific and technology experts, staffs in natural resources and environment. Besides, there were meetings opening up collaborative relationships with relevant natural resources and environment agencies of the United States in Washington DC and Los Angeles.
In 02 days in Washington, D.C., the delegation had a visits of working and exchanging experiences with other agencies including the US Committee on Foreign Relations of the US Congress; Ministry of Environmental Protection of United States, the School of Administration and Public Policy at George Washington University.
At the US Congress
After working in Washington, D.C., the delegation came to study and survey at training organizations and institutions in Los Angeles. In particular, the delegation mainly study, consult, share experiences with professors, experts are teaching at the University of California for the content of training, development experts, officials science and technology in natural resources and the environment. Besides, the group also took time to visit and work at the agencies related to natural resources and the environment, such as: Earthquakes Warning Centre of the University of Technology of California; Southern California Wastewater Treatment Center; Protection Agency and Reuse of Water Resources California; Geological Rating Agency of the United States; Protection of Wildlife and Aquatic Species California; Port of Los Angeles; Environmental Air Management Agency California.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa had meetings and discussions with representatives from US agencies about the prospects of cooperation on training, development of scientific and technology experts, staffs in related area. Through these learning and researching activities, members of the delegation were aware of the basic mechanisms and policies of the US government for training, development of scientific and technology experts, staffs in natural resources and environment; simultaneously captures the real-world experience in the management of natural resources and environmental protection; searching and opening opportunities for cooperation on natural resources and the environment.
