The seminar aimed to share experiences and promote cooperation in remote sensing technology applications for investigation and evaluation of natural resources; disaster monitoring and environmental protection; collecting and analyzing intelligence, military information from space for defense – security purposes. Attending the seminar were over 100 managers, military and scientists from state agencies such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, Ministry of Investment planning and related Research Institutes, Universities.
On seminar opening speech, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Khánh, Active General Director of National Remote Sensing Department said: in recent years, National Remote Sensing Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam and the world's leading group of space technology and remote sensing Airbus Defence & Space has had a tight coordination, created deeper relationships and effectively in remote sensing applications for monitoring natural resources and the environment.
According to Mr. Khanh, in the context of remote sensing activities in Vietnam are still limitations and inadequacies, not synchronized in time and type, Airbus Defence and Space has contributed greatly to the development of domestic remote sensing such as natural resources and environment monitoring system in Vietnam (2006-2009) with the core is Central Remote Sensing Station. The establishment of first remote sensing satellite in Vietnam VNREDSat-1 (2013) is noted and welcomed the cooperation and positive contribution of the Airbus consortium application software, remote sensing products and training programs for capacity building of remote sensing Vietnam officials.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Acting General Director of National Remote Sensing Workshop in opening speech
In the framework of the Seminar, morning session with the theme "Airbus Defence and Space's Portfolio and Solutions for Home Security" for defense objects attracted the presence of more than 40 delegates. In this session, Mr. Philippe Rebillard – Defence Sales Export Director of Airbus DS Intelligence has introduced about Airbus DS and its defense products. Besides, Mr. Philippe Rebillard has also presented the remote sensing applications solutions for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance services of defense. To support the information, Mr. Jean - Michel Benharrosh – Export and Future Projects Manager of Airbus DS Intelligence has performed image analysis tools, identity tracking military targets in the air, land and sea. Mr Foo Weng Kee – General Manager of Airbus DS Intelligence Singapore also performed intelligence solutions to support national security.decision making.
Following the morning session, afternoon session with the theme "Airbus Defence and Space's Satellite Imageries and Its Applications" also drew the presence of nearly 50 civilian delegates. In this session, Mr. Tay Lip Hong – Sales Manager of Airbus DS Intelligence Singapore has presented the products, services and projects of Airbus DS to support the exploration and monitoring climate changes in Vietnam. The participants also viewed a demo of image information systems Geostore, exchanged, discussed about the issues related to the research and application of remote sensing technology, especially Remote sensing data and advanced solutions of Airbus Defence & Space in real conditions of Vietnam.
Discusssion at the seminar
End of Seminar, Deputy General Director of National Remote Sensing, Mr. Chu Hai Tung expressed the appreciate the contribution of Airbus DS Group in recent years, especially initiative jointly organized the workshop which was transmitting useful information, is the basis for strengthening the exploitation and application of remote sensing technology. Since then, he hopes for the cooperation in the near future on the application of remote sensing data, especially the remote sensing image data and advanced solutions of Airbus Defence & Space to build up surveillance system monitoring of natural resources, the environment and national security Vietnam between specialized remote sensing agencies in Vietnam with Airbus Defence and Space.
